Model United Nations
English in the Anglophone Section is taught by a team of specialist teachers who are all native English speakers. Students are taught in mixed ability groups and have four hours of English a week.
English language and English literature are taught in a combined course using a variety of teaching methods that allow all pupils to have equal access to the curriculum. Support is provided in some classes for children with areas of learning that may need it.
Aims and Objectives
- to encourage a love of reading and an interest in a wide range of literature from a variety of Anglophone countries
- to encourage a critical reading of media texts
- to develop confidence in speaking for a range of purposes and audiences, listening and responding critically to others.
- to develop writing skills that enable students to communicate fluently and accurately for a variety of audiences and purposes.
- to encourage students to think for themselves and to develop their own opinions.
- to give students the opportunity to work both independently and with others
- to encourage the use of IT.
