PEEP / FCPE

In France, there two main parental associations which have national standing, the PEEP (Parents d’Elèves des Écoles Publique) and FCPE (Fédération des Conseils des Parents d’Elèves). These organisations have official status and are very influential in the life of the school.

Elections for parent representatives from these associations take place at the start of the school year.

Parents can join these associations any time during the school year.  It is highly recommended for Lycée parents to join one of these associations as they organise the loan of Lycée school manuals (otherwise you must buy them yourself...)

PEEP - Fédération des Parents d’Elèves de l’Enseignement Public – the oldest of the associations that had its origins in secondary schools, but is now also represented in all schools and universities.

FCPE - Fédération des conseils de parents d'élèves des écoles publiques – an association that has its origins in kindergarten and primary schools, but now also has representation in secondary schools. The association is traditionally politically to the left of the other associations.
